Masquerade expands to new larger premises!
June 2009 ....Our Birmingham Branch has expanded to new premises.
moving only one door down we are now in much larger premises which used to be a Woolworths many years ago..... The Team of Masquerade Girls and other little helpers all worked very hard on Sunday the 28th june to move the ever growing range of costumes and stock to their new home.
The new shop looks wonderful and allows us to show more of our fantastic ranges. Please visit us to see the new and improved Masquerade !!!
Thank you to all the gang that helped the move go so smoothly, and to all the muscle power involved in moving ALL our washing machines, tumble driers and counters !!!!

We have recently hired a costume to a gentleman, Mr David Preece, who is busy raising funds in aid of SANDS, (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity).
One of his events is partaking in a duathlon at castle combe on August 5th 2007 to raise money and is during the event riding a Penny Farthing bike in period costume.
Another of Dave's events is to ride on his penny farthing from Lands End to John O'Groats next year........Well done !!

| We have increased our range of Children's Costumes |

We have added to our range of children's costumes, a new range of Super Hero and Disney characters. Some of the first arrivals are, Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Robin, Supergirl, Batgirl, and Power Rangers.
We have more yet to arrive, to include Wonderwoman, Pink Glitter Batgirl and Super Girl!! All girls love pink!
We have increased our children's range of Historical characters, for such events as school book days and productions, and history days out.
We have costumes now in stock for Harry Potter characters in line with the release of the new book and film.
Since the release of the new Pirates of the Caribbean film all styles of Pirate costumes and accessories are to the full for all those Jack Sparrow Wannabes!!
We have recently re-introduced a luxury range of beautiful ladies Evening and Prom dresses for hire, some of these can be viewed in our gallery and they range from size 8 to 18. All of our dresses also are suitable for period evening attire. |

Chronicles of Narnia for the Kings School at Worcester, Allo Allo Guys and Dolls, Okalahoma, Oliver, My Fair Lady. For this production we made a whole new Ascot scene for the ladies, including beautiful picture hats. |

| Masquerade Celebrate 25 Years |

Masquerade celebrated 25 years in business in May 2006, when all the staff enjoyed a celebration evening at Jonothan's Hotel and Restaurante, Quinton.
Long serving members of staff received presentations.
The longest serving member of the team, Ann, has been with us since day one!
Masquerade's second shop opened its doors in Evesham in May 1995, moving once in Evesham to larger premises. Again, in May 2001 Masquerade Evesham relocated to Worcester to 3000 square feet of premises, where we are still currently situated.
The Worcester team is headed up by Sarah Crawford , Daughter of John And Sue Penzer who are the founding members of the business. Sue Penzer continues to work from the Quinton store, while John Penzer is taking a slightly more laid back position, away from the hustle and bustle of shop life!!! |

Dudley City Council have 2 new Dinosaurs working in their environmental and
museum departments, made and supplied by Masquerade's sewing team ... so
watch out!!!
An Annual Victorian Fayre is held in Worcester every December, where all
stall holders join in the festivities over a 3-day period and dress in
traditional Victorian costume. Masquerade supply a large amount of costumes
to this event including Worcester City Council, and most major companies
within the city.
In June 2005 Nuneaton and Bedworth County Council Environmental Health
Department commissioned a huge jolly potato wearing a red sweater to promote
food health education.
In 2004 NPower approached Masquerade to make their 2 educational mascots 'Bright Spark' and 'Electra', followed in 2005 by their new promotional characters
for gas and electricity.
Masquerade's early promotional costumes were for the National Westminster
Bank depicting a family of pigs.
Masquerades were also given the licence to produce the ever famous Postman
Pat for the Royal Mail. Sadly there is no current licence for this character
to be made.
Packwood House, National Trust property for several years, staged a 1920's
themed musical picnic evenings for which Masquerade manufactured and hired
costumes for use, by the National Trust and the attending public.
Masquerade as a company continue to support many charity and fund raising
events around the country, such as Run for Home and McMillan Nurses Fund.
Sandwell Council, West Midlands, commissioned Masquerade to design and
manufacture a costume for Francis Asbury, Methodist Minister and friend of
John Wesley in order to promote the Wesley Holiday Trail, both in the UK and
America. This costume was to be seen on the Ed Sullivan Show in the States!! And made quite an impression.
Following the events of September 11th 2002 ( Twin Towers ), The Firemen of
the UK not only gave of their time and energy, they also collected a large amount
of money which was presented to the New York Firemen by a British
representative for whom we created a brand new costume. |
